What happens when my credits run out?
Nothing dramatic. The editor keeps working exactly as before; Quill just waits until you add credits. Buy a 150-credit pack for $4.99 with no subscription, or go Pro for 500 credits a month. Your scripts, formatting, and exports are never held hostage.
What about copyright and IP?
You own everything you write in Inkwell, period. We don't claim any rights to your material, and using Quill doesn't transfer ownership or create shared authorship. We can't speak for WGA arbitration or a studio's AI questionnaire; no software can. What we can promise: Quill never writes a page you didn't ask for and approve, and if you never turn it on, your script never touches an AI.
Will my writing train the model?
No. We never use your scripts to train AI models. When you use Quill, only the necessary text snippet is sent to the AI provider for processing, and it's never used to train or fine-tune any model. If you turn on sync, your scripts are end-to-end encrypted before they leave your Mac — we store only the encrypted bytes and never hold your key, so we can't read them. Your creative work stays yours.
Does Quill write for me?
No. Quill suggests, it doesn't author. It can brainstorm ideas, offer dialogue alternatives, or help punch up a line, but every suggestion requires your explicit approval. You're always the writer. Quill is the assistant.
Do I need internet access?
