One credit, in plain numbers.
Credits are what Quill costs, and nothing else. Writing, formatting, importing, exporting and syncing are free forever. Here is what a credit actually buys.
You spend credits only when Quill answers.
Costs vary with the length of what you ask and what comes back. These are the everyday figures, not a price list.

The honest answers.
Do credits expire?
No. Credits you bought in a pack sit in your account until you spend them — there is no clock, no monthly reset, no forfeiture. Plan credits are the monthly allowance that comes with Pro; pack credits are yours for good.
Are packs a subscription?
No. A pack is a single charge. Nothing renews, there is nothing to cancel, and you buy another only when you want one. If you find yourself buying packs every month, Pro is cheaper.
What if I run out?
Quill stops answering until you top up; you can buy a pack or start Pro whenever you like. The editor itself keeps working exactly as before: writing, formatting, import and export never cost a credit.
Which credits get spent first?
Your plan credits for the month, then your pack credits. That way the allowance you have already paid for is used before the credits that never expire.
